The Omega Academy Journey

It started with a student on the edge of losing it all. One more failed exam, and she’d have to repeat her entire year. A WhatsApp status from her mentor quietly asked if anyone could help. Someone responded, not because they had to, but because they had a heart willing to serve.

The student passed. Grateful and eager to pay it forward, she began tutoring others who were also struggling. But with the pressure of a demanding corporate job, it quickly became too much. She began referring the students to the person who had helped her in her own time of need.

That offer of help came from Tsakani, who at the time was facing her own academic setback. She had recently failed her ITC exam and was quietly wrestling with doubt and disappointment. But tutoring others gave her purpose. It held her accountable. It reminded her that her journey still mattered.

The students who came through weren’t topping their classes. Most were barely holding on. But they were willing to work. With the right support, they didn’t just pass. They secured positions at leading banks and firms.

What began as an act of kindness quickly grew into something much bigger. When the vision was shared with Khotso, it sparked a shared commitment to make sure no student faces academic pressure alone. To build a space where support is real and potential is nurtured.

That is how Omega Academy was born. Not from ambition or strategy, but from a heart to serve. And that same heart is what keeps it going.

Today, we’ve expanded. With Eric now leading our APC offering, we are officially able to walk with a student from their first year of postgrad all the way to their final board exam. From student to qualified accounting professional, we are here for the full journey.

This story isn’t about one exam or one student. It is about what becomes possible when someone shows up, not for recognition, but because they care. Sometimes, the most meaningful change begins quietly, with one simple act of support.
