A struggling CTA student was about to sit for her final auditing supplementary exam. If she didn’t pass, it wasn’t just a matter of repeating one exam—it meant she’d have to redo all four of her modules. In the CTA program, the rules are unforgiving: fail one module, and you’re required to repeat all four the following year. She needed help. Tsakani came across a WhatsApp status where the student’s mentor had posted that the student (her mentee) needed someone to help her prepare for the supplementary exam. Tsakani, feeling bored with time to kill, decided to step in and tutor her.
That student passed her supplementary exam. And when she did, she took to LinkedIn, offering to tutor others who were struggling just like she had. But soon, she realized the challenge of juggling tutoring with her demanding corporate job. She simply didn’t have the time to help everyone who needed it. So, she referred the students to Tsakani, unknowingly setting the stage for something much bigger.
At the time, Tsakani had just faced a tough personal setback—she hadn’t passed her ITC exam, and the weight of self-doubt was heavy on her. She felt demoralized and struggled to find the motivation to study for her next attempt. But tutoring these students became her reason to push forward. Knowing she had to be prepared for each session meant she had to study, and that gave her the drive she was lacking. Helping them succeed wasn’t just about giving back; it became the spark she needed to get herself back on track.
The students she took on were struggling—badly. But they worked, they pushed, and by the end of the year, they weren’t just passing; they were securing jobs as CA trainees at some of the most reputable banks and audit firms in the country. And Tsakani? She passed her ITC.
Soon, Tsakani shared her vision with Khotso (CFO & Head of Tutors). They quickly realized they shared the same passion and determination to make sure students wouldn’t face their academic battles alone.
When Tsakani stepped in to help a student on the brink of repeating a whole year, she wasn’t just offering academic support—she was offering hope. But when she partnered with Khotso to extend that hope to other students, it became something bigger. Together, they brought Omega Academy's mission to life—to create an environment where where every student is supported, motivated, and empowered to go beyond their limitations. Proving that when the right people believe in you, you can go further than you ever thought possible.
